A can of “textured garage floor paint” from a big-box store adds a rough feel, but it’s still thin, single-coat paint with all the durability problems that come with it. It grips at first and then wears through in the traffic lanes, taking the traction with it. A slip-resistant professional epoxy system builds the texture into a thick, bonded, hard-wearing coating, so the grip lasts as long as the floor does.
